Powertrain and chassis training

engine, hybrid, transmission, AWD, suspension

From the engine to the tyres: how powertrain and chassis work together and what the driver feels. For teams at home and abroad, in any language.

Powertrain and chassis training

Content

A vehicle drives the way its systems interact. The training explains the individual assemblies and shows how they influence one another.

Combustion engine

Turbocharging, injection, exhaust aftertreatment and efficiency measures such as cylinder deactivation. What the figures on the spec sheet mean and how they show up on the road.

Hybrid drives

Mild, full and plug-in hybrids compared, operating strategies and energy flow. When the electric motor works, when the engine takes over, and why that decides fuel consumption.

Transmission and all-wheel drive

Dual-clutch and torque-converter automatics, driveline, differentials and all-wheel-drive systems with their control strategies on dry roads, in the wet and in snow.

Suspension, steering and brakes

Axle concepts, adaptive damping and air suspension, steering systems, brakes and regeneration. How comfort and handling are balanced.

Who it is for

Each audience gets the depth its work requires.

Sales

Make the technical differences between engines and trim levels easy to grasp, in conversation and on the test drive.

Service and workshop

How the systems relate to each other, which helps with diagnosis and customer complaints.

Production and quality

What tolerances and test steps on the line have to do with how the car drives later.

Training providers

Trainers for your powertrain and chassis programmes, including assignments abroad.

Language, location and material

In any language

Training is held in your participants’ language. Professional interpreters are provided by our partner company Limundi Languages, including for mixed international groups.

On site or online

At the plant, at the dealership, in the training centre or at the test track, in Germany and abroad. Live online training is also possible.

Material

Training is usually based on your own material, even if it is in a different language. If there is none, we create presentations, participant handouts and tests ourselves.

Frequently asked questions

Is this only about passenger cars?

The focus is on passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. Military vehicles are covered under aerospace and defence.

How technical does the training get?

As technical as the audience needs. For sales the focus is on function and benefit, for service on design, interactions and typical faults.
